India Gate

To start any tour you must visit historical sites and museums. India Gate is a historic landmark that was built in 1931 by Sir Edwin Lutyens. Sir Edwin Lutyens was also known as the architecture of Delhi because he contributed so much that most of the historical buildings or architecture were designed by him only. India Gate is a war memorial and was dedicated to the Martyrs who died in World War II. But after the independence of India, it became a war memorial of Indian Martyrs. There are no entry fees.


QutubMinar was built in 1193 by Qutub-din-Aibak who was a king but he died his son completed the Minar (Tower). It is the world's only 72.5 meters highest free-standing Minaret. It is one of UNESCO’s world heritage.

The Red Fort

Red fort is located in Old Delhi, the nearest metro station is Chandni Chowk and it is within walking distance. Red Fort is a massive constructed wall made with red stone by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1648 AD. This beautifully constructed masterpiece plays a very important part of Indian history.

The Rashtrapati Bhawan

Rashtrapati Bhavan is the Official home of the President of India. It was built in 1912 by Sir Edwin Lutyen and considered as the Viceroy’s House during the British era. After India got independence in 1947 it was renamed as RashtrapatiBhawan. It is spread in 200, 00 sq. ft. It is a must-visit place and is open to the public but one should confirm the timing before visiting because they have fixed visiting hours.

The interesting facts of RashtrapatiBhawan are that it is the world’s largest Official house of the Head of the state which is larger than Buckingham Palace and the White House.

National Museum

Any city or the country is best known for its history and that can be found in Museums. The National Museum, Delhi includes more than 20000 art pieces, prehistoric monuments and articles, and few of them are more than 5000 years old. There are several things which is very rare and unique that are stored in the Museum. So, one should definitely visit this place.

Other than that a tourist can also visit Akshardham Temple, Lotus Temple, JantarMantar, and RajGhat which is the memorial of the father of the nation "Mahatma Gandhi".
